Macau show postponed, injury blamed

A mixed martial arts show due to be held at the CotaiArena in Macau tonight has been postponed, with organisers citing a serious injury to heavyweight Yusuke Kawaguchi, who was due to top the bill. A spokesman for Deep MMA, the Tokyo-based promoters, said Kawaguchi, who has suffered a string of defeats in 2010, was under doctor's orders to rest and not travel. No date has been given for a rescheduled event. Sources close to the promoters say the Venetian Macao advised that the event be shelved due to poor ticket sales.
