Hong Kong developers, hoteliers offer free lodging to Tai Po fire victims
Regal Hotels, Sun Hung Kai Properties, Sino Group and Langham Hospitality provide free lodging, other support

The hotel group would make 160 rooms freely available to those affected by the Tai Po fire for two weeks, a spokeswoman said, citing instructions from the hotel’s vice-chairman Poman Lo. The rooms would be sourced from Regal’s 12 properties under the Regal, Regala and iClub brands, she said.
The hotels, some of which were pet-friendly, would also offer free meals, she said.
Residents and students would also be able to use a study hub that was opened by the group at the Regal Riverside Hotel in Sha Tin.
The group is also supporting the Bodhi Love Foundation (BLF) to reach out to primary schools and kindergartens in Tai Po to provide emergency assistance of HK$2,000 (US$257) for each child so parents could buy school supplies.
Likewise, the hotel in Sha Tin will serve as the venue for a six-week mindfulness training by the BLF for parents and children.
