Beijing eyes themed journeys and new on-board services as part of broader efforts to rebalance the economy

The extensive network links the country’s vast regions and already serves as the primary mode of transport for domestic travellers. As international tourist arrivals rise – supported by expanded visa-free entry policies and growing cultural influence – the rail network itself has also become a distinct attraction for some foreign travellers.

Along with character-themed carriages, the trains would also feature tailored itineraries such as wellness retreats and tours for senior citizens.
China’s high-speed rail network is known for its convenience, including a service that allows passengers to order meals from stations along their route and have the food delivered directly to their seats.
