As the year comes to an end, bars across Hong Kong are throwing holiday festivities – while one of the city’s hottest venues bids us farewell.
Start the weekend at Harbour City as farm-to-glass concept Glass Gardener takes over Hexa, or “wine” down this Saturday as 67 Pall Mall – the private members’ club for wine lovers – celebrates 10 years in Hong Kong with a selection of 2015 vintages at 67 on Hollywood.
Be sure to make time for Hong Kong’s own bastion of rum, The Daily Tot, as it hosts farewell parties on November 28 and November 29 before sadly closing – for now? – on December 2.
The nightlife community also promises to keep the weekend going for a good cause through Monday as eight of Hong Kong’s best mixologists rally to support one of their own.

Hexa x Glass Gardener

What could be better than sweeping night views of Hong Kong with cocktails made by Hong Kong’s premier farm-to-glass nomadic concept? Glass Gardener, co-founded by Tony Hsu and Henry Ho, is taking over the bar at contemporary Cantonese restaurant Hexa at Harbour City. Hsu and Ho are collaborating with Rooster Rojo and Paragon Cordial to serve drinks inspired by Chinese tea.
Where: Hexa, Shop OTE 101, G/F, Ocean Terminal, Harbour City, Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui

The Daily Tot’s A Final Farewell

Hong Kong bar-goers were shocked to hear that Singular Concepts would be closing its Cuban-inspired rum hotspot, The Daily Tot, on December 2. According to a press release, the concept is closing due to “economic realities of the post-pandemic landscape, including the rising costs of operations”. However, this is not a true final farewell as Singular Concepts CEO David Sit says in the same release, “We hold onto the concept and the spirit of The Daily Tot and hope to be back in the near future.” Watch this space …
The team has planned A Final Farewell for November 28 and November 29. On the latter date, DJ Minou, curator of the Black Out Brunches from the bar’s Covid-19 era, hosts the final edition of Rum & Riddim.

67 Pall Mall: A Toast to Ten Years

There’s arguably no better way to “wine” down your weekend than by spending a night at 67 on Hollywood, where members’ club 67 Pall Mall is raising A Toast to Ten Years with a series of 67 wines with a 2015 vintage, representing the first year the club was in Hong Kong.
Highlights range from the Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clavoillon from Domaine Leflaive, a balanced chardonnay from Burgundy; to the Chapter & Verse Tempranillo, a creamy, almost minty, medium-bodied wine from Huailai County in Hebei, China. The selection also includes a Josmeyer Les Pierrets Riesling for those looking for more texture and variety.

Hospitality Titans Unite – Fundraiser for Luca

Eight of Hong Kong’s most celebrated mixologists are coming together to take over Barcode to raise funds for Luca Andrei (Lockdown, Bianco & Rosso, Pernod Ricard and more). In the week surrounding the World’s 50 Best Bars festivities, according to Midnight Espresso Communications, Andrei sustained multiple complex fractures to his right leg, which require intensive surgeries and an 18-month recovery period.
To support him, 100 per cent of the proceeds from this event are going towards his medical and living expenses. Proof & Co and Ratafia Rossi are sponsoring the proceedings with heavy support from Midnight Espresso Communications, with all-star mixologists in attendance: Lorenzo Antinori (Bar Leone, Montana), Benjamin Boyce (Industry Icon, previously Club 1880, La Petite Maison), Aled Burt (Bourke’s), Beckaly Franks (Artifact, Call Me Al), Axel Gonzalez (Terrible Baby), Nic Ho (Aer, Dead Poets), Amir Javaid (Socio, Gossip) and Kallum Wu (Proof & Co).
