Head to a Christmas market, buy restaurant dinnerware to help Tai Po Fire victims, watch Two Seasons, Two Strangers and more this weekend

As the end of the year nears, a cool breeze blowing through Hong Kong heralds the beginning of the holiday season.
With Christmas and New Year celebrations just around the corner, the city has become a winter wonderland. Here are five things to do in Hong Kong this weekend.
1. ‘Merry Gingermas’ Market
Stanley Plaza is the perfect destination for families this holiday season as it celebrates its 10th annual Christmas event, “Merry Gingermas”, from December 19 to 28.
The market features more than 100 booths selling artisanal crafts and festive treats. Families can indulge in returning favourites like Hugo’s Cheese, authentic German fare from Biergarten, and The Nutter Company’s gelato, alongside new highlights such as Fisholic, the Michelin-recommended seafood joint based in North Point.
In the adjacent Murray House mall, the “Ginger Gallery” offers visitors the chance to admire and buy ginger-inspired works by local artists. Proceeds support the Food Angel, a meal assistance foundation for those in need. The market also features a stall run by the Society for Abandoned Animals that offers gifts to fund animal welfare.
During these festive 10 days, free shuttle bus services will run between Stanley Plaza and Admiralty.
