Fans of Royal Doulton's ceramic figurines had the chance recently to meet Michael Doulton, a sixth-generation descendant and ambassador of the British brand. Doulton was in town as part of the company's "100 years of HN Figures" Asian tour. The limited edition set of "HN Icons" collection represents the brand's most beloved figurines of the past century, including "Darling", the first figure to be given an HN number. Established in 1815, the company has made hundreds of figures, including likenesses of British royal family members.
When asked if anyone had negatively critiqued their ceramic likeness, Doulton replied: "Yes, Winston Churchill. He said we made him look too grim."
Calvin Klein celebrated the Asian launch of its new Platinum label with a runway show featuring menswear and womenswear for spring-summer at Shaw Studios. The collections were designed by global creative director Kevin Carrigan.
Celebrities and socialites including Gaile Lok, Fiona Sit, Tao Okamoto, Ana Rivera, Tais Fortes, and Anthony and Jocelyn Sandstrom were also on hand. The catwalk featured a number of international models, among them Liu Wen, Tilda Lindstam, CiCi Xiang and Sung Jin Park.
