What to see at Hong Kong Palace Museum’s ancient Egypt exhibition – 5 of the best exhibits
The wonders of ancient Egypt are revealed in a new exhibition at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, from cat mummies to a female pharaoh and more

From a sculpture of a nine-year-old pharaoh to cat mummies and an ancient tablet comparable to the Rosetta Stone, a new Hong Kong Palace Museum exhibition sheds light on ancient Egyptian civilisation.
Opening November 20 and running until August 31, 2026, “Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums” showcases 250 artefacts, many loaned from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, with some having never been removed from Egyptian soil before this tour.
“This exhibition is more than a display. It is a dialogue between past and present, between Egypt and the world, and between two great cultures united by reverence for timeless beauty and human creativity,” says Dr Mohamed Ismail Khaled, secretary general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) in Egypt.
