Pasta, dim sum, crêpes: favourite Hong Kong restaurants of a French architect
Lorene Faure, a French architect in Hong Kong, shares her favourite spots in the city for gluten-free eating, amazing views and more

Born in Paris, Lorene Faure is a co-founder of the Hong Kong architecture and interior design studio Bean Buro. She spoke to Andrew Sun.
After years of childhood summers in Brittany, I am partial to a good galette (buckwheat crêpe), and Fleur de Sel (Shop 2J, Po Foo Building, 1 Foo Ming Street, Causeway Bay. Tel: 2805 6678) does a fantastic classic with egg, ham and cheese – best with a bowl of cider.

For a quick lunch, I like Dandy’s Organic Cafe (32 Upper Lascar Row, Sheung Wan. Tel: 2838 6166). Everything on the menu is gluten-free, so I can enjoy the comforting, wholesome meals without worry.
Pici (various locations, including G/F, 16 St Francis Yard, Wan Chai. Tel: 2755 5523) is another go-to choice. I love the gluten-free Bolognese.

Salisterra (49/F, The Upper House, Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, Admiralty. Tel: 3968 1106) is one of my top picks for an early-bird dinner. Their Mediterranean menu is fresh and flavourful and offers great value for the quality. The restaurant’s design is also beautiful. But what is really special is that unique skyline as the sun sets. The whole experience makes for a nice introduction to the city.
