Let the Blackpink girls walk you through waterproofing your look, heartbreak hair care and how mutual misery can be your friend – valuable beauty tips for those going through a break-up or in a black/pink mood

Going through a big break-up? So is everyone from Blackpink, apparently. The K-pop sensations just released their newest music video Lovesick Girls, a boogie-friendly bop about the more painful parts of love (not to be confused with the 98-year-old Lovesick Blues, which is a much more country take on the topic).

Following the beauty lessons we learned from the colour-bomb MV of last single Ice Cream , with Selena Gomez, in their new video the girls explore the highs and lows of relationships in another striking visual treat (and we’re not just talking about the videography). And, between the classic bubblegum beauty and the catchy tunes, we couldn’t help but notice that the girls have once more inadvertently given us some beauty tips – this time highlighting properly artful moping.

From mascara that just won’t budge to smudged eye make-up that looks fashionably cried out, here are a few tips on how to deal with a break-up through beauty:

Tip 1: Invest in some waterproof mascara

You see, Rosé is clearly a mess, weeping in a grubby bathtub. There’s dirt and paint on her face, and you can clearly see the tracks of her tears – however, somehow her mascara remains unsoiled. That, friends, is great mascara right there.

When you’re mourning a break-up, there’s bound to be tears. Just don’t let those tears ruin a perfectly good lash look, yeah? All you need is a great waterproof mascara to stop you getting raccoon eyes.

Tip 2: Get a waterproof setting spray to match
