Meet Annie Starke, Glenn Close’s lookalike TV chef daughter: the actress is besties with JFK’s great-niece and Bruce Willis’ daughter, starred on Netflix’s Ratched, and hosts a cooking show in Montana

- The daughter of Glenn Close and John Starke, Annie Starke grew up on sets like that of Disney’s live-action 101 Dalmatians – and eventually played the younger version of her mum’s role in The Wife
- These days, she has a cooking show created by the same production company as The Pioneer Woman, and lives on her Montana ranch with husband Marc Albu and their dogs
When two members of the same family are equally talented actors, it can sometimes work out well for casting directors.
As director Björn Runge searched for someone to play a younger version of Glenn Close’s character in 2017 film The Wife, Joan Castleman, he was beginning to have a nightmare.
“Either the look is right but the voice is wrong, or the voice is right but the look is wrong,” he told Close – who timidly pointed out that her daughter is also an actor, per New York Post.

Per the same source, after several screen tests, Close’s daughter Annie Starke was given the part. Starke’s initial response was a firm “no”, according to an interview she gave to Grumpy magazine, as she thought it would be “weird” to play a younger version of her mother. But in the end the script won her over, and the pair won critical acclaim for the film.
So what else do we know about the Golden Globe winning actress’ only daughter?
Annie Starke is the daughter of Glenn Close and movie producer John Starke

Starke is the 35-year-old daughter of Close, aged 76 – best known for her roles in 80s films Fatal Attraction and Dangerous Liaisons – and Hollywood movie producer John Starke, who’s made films such as Step Up and P.S I Love You.
“I had a profoundly normal childhood,” Annie told People magazine in 2018. “I’m a little boring. I was a barefoot kid, outdoorsy, never had siblings, but I had cats and dogs. I credit my parents for keeping me grounded and keeping it normal.”
