The women of the Hilton family are no strangers to the spotlight. From matriarch Kathy Hilton’s turn on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to the irreplaceable icon that is Paris Hilton and fashion designer Nicky Hilton, these women are used to the spotlight. But what about family patriarch Rick Hilton? Kathy Hilton’s husband – who’s also father to Paris, Nicky, Barron and Conrad, and grandfather to eight grandchildren (so far) – Rick Hilton is one of the most influential businessmen in America.

In September, Kathy Hilton revealed her secret to making her marriage work for over four decades. Speaking to People at the Elizabeth Taylor Ball to End Aids, Kathy shared that she lives by the idea that “If you have had a disagreement, you always make up before you go to sleep and keep a little mystery and always keep it exciting and fun.” Despite their massive wealth, the Hiltons’ go-to date spot is The Cheesecake Factory and they haven’t ever been apart for more than two weeks during their marriage.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Rick and Kathy Hilton have a combined net worth of US$350 million. This is more than their wealthiest child – Paris is worth US$300 million – and makes them the richest in the Hilton family. Rick inherited most of his fortune from his grandfather, Hilton Hotels founder Conrad N. Hilton. But he grew his wealth by co-founding a successful real estate brokerage – Hilton & Hyland – with Jeff Hyland. More recently, he launched another luxury brokerage, Hilton Hilton, with Barron and Tessa Hilton.

Rick and Kathy Hilton reportedly met when they were teenagers and tied the knot in 1979. Over 40 years later, the couple are still going strong. To celebrate his wife’s 65th birthday in April last year, Rick posted a photo on Instagram captioned, “Happy birthday to the best wife ever!”

Real estate mogul (and reality TV star) Mauricio Umansky has a beef with him

Umansky is a successful real estate broker and the star of Buying Beverly Hills. He’s also the estranged husband of Kathy Hilton’s half-sister Kyle Richards. And, he revealed on his Netflix show that he’s got issues with his former brother-in-law. In a confessional, Umansky revealed that he “got kind of f***ed by Hilton & Hyland” when Rick Hilton allegedly rejected his bid to become a partner at the firm – their relationship soured.

However, Paris Hilton hit back at Umansky’s comments, saying she and her family were “sick of [Umansky] using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show”.
