Chrissy Teigen has been opening up about her son’s diabetes diagnosis.
The mum of four recently told People magazine that when six-year-old Miles was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes last year, it hit the whole family hard. “We were thrown into this world of chaos and having to learn so much all at once,” she told the outlet. “Everything was put on pause. We were finding ourselves going in and out of hospitals, sitting down with our notebooks, taking copious notes.”
The diagnosis has also had an effect on Miles’ big sister Luna, according to the model. “Luna’s a tough cookie and she’s kind of the boss of everybody. She’s like queen of the babies,” she said. However, Teigen admitted that at bedtime, the nine-year-old often lets her guard down: “the tears come out and [she’s] like, ‘I just feel like [Miles is] getting a lot of attention,’ or, ‘He’s getting candy when I don’t get candy.’”
Someone who knows that big-sister responsibility well is Chrissy’s own older sibling, Tina Teigen, whom she has often celebrated in sweet Instagram appreciation posts.
“Nothing like a sister. Happy birthday to the girl, now woman, I stole all my clothes from. I love you!” Chrissy wrote in August last year on one video of the pair.
