Vivian Chen

Even the most dapper among us need a little expert advice on the season's best trends. STYLE took editor David Vetter to Lane Crawford to push his fashion boundaries. 
Personal shopper Crystal Chan was on-hand to guide Vetter, who describes his style as "functional at best". 

We put together three looks for Vetter: workday chic, weekend cool and black tie.



"Military is a big trend this season," Chan says. "Dries Van Noten, for example, updates the classic military look."

"The other big trend is velvet. Haider Ackermann's velvet bomber jacket is a must-have this season."

In the end, it was an INK coat that Vetter liked best. "It was comfortable, and looked good in a way that I wouldn't have put together myself."
