She may have been getting bad press recently for trying to bring back The Drew Barrymore Show amid ongoing strikes in Hollywood, but her style choices remain as bold as ever

Drew Barrymore has been making headlines recently due to her decision to continue with her talk show despite the ongoing WGA and Sag-Aftra strikes in Hollywood.

On September 17 though, the famous actress announced on Instagram that she’s decided to press pause after receiving a slew of criticisms.

Variety reported even though the famous actress wasn’t technically violating the rules, she did draw negative press for trying to bring back The Drew Barrymore Show. The same source stated that around 15 picketers gathered outside CBS Studios in New York last Monday. But what truly kicked off the backlash against her was when her crew kicked out two audience members during the taping of the show. One Twitter user documented the experience and said they were wearing pins.

The New York Times reported that Barrymore was dropped as the National Book Awards host last week, after the incident. Screenwriter Nick Hurwitch even posted on Twitter with a 50 First Dates reference, joking that she “has short-term memory loss and needs to have [the] strike explained to her each day by Adam Sandler”.

Barrymore has always styled striking looks on the red carpet. One of her classic grunge looks was a silver baby doll dress she wore to the premiere after-party at Tavern On The Green, a landmark restaurant in Central Park, New York City.

Her dress, in silver satin, was cut at a mid-thigh length and featured a square-cut neckline. The dress was paired with patent-leather Mary Jane heels and a slicked-back, blonde bob.
