Fame and celebrity

Besides the Euphoria star, the former Gucci intern has dressed celebrities from Lana Del Rey and Lauren Sánchez Bezos to Bella Hadid

Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney just turned 28, and she celebrated her big day with a space-themed birthday bash. The star-studded party included guests like Sweeney’s Anyone but You co-star Glen Powell and Jeff Bezos’s new wife Lauren Sánchez Bezos.

The birthday girl went full glam in a look inspired by Britney Spears’ Circus era, put together by her trusted stylist Molly Dickson, 38. Her dress, a replica of a piece from The Blonds’ spring/summer 2009 collection, took six weeks to make.

Speaking to Vogue, Dickson revealed, “The dress weighed a bit over 20lbs [around 9kg], but the construction of the dress was so amazing, and fit her so perfectly that she said it was actually comfortable.”

Dickson also took charge of the Emmy-nominated actress’ styling for her recent American Eagle campaign, which went viral for the controversial tagline, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.”

So, what else do we know about Molly Dickson, whom Sweeney refers to as “my type of girl”, per Marie Claire?

Dickson grew up on a farm in North Dakota. “I didn’t even know how to pronounce any of the [fashion] designers,” she told Marie Claire, but revealed to Beladora that she was always “intrigued by clothes, trends and playing dress up”.

Dickson also credits her background for her work ethic. “I remember being young and seeing my grandpa and dad wake up before sunrise and working until the middle of the night during harvest, and their commitment made me understand how valuable hard work is,” she told Who What Wear.

Dickson graduated from the University of Minnesota, where she studied advertising.
