Day two in the Italian fashion capital featured a striking centenary show from Fendi and sleek refinement from Jil Sander’s new creative director

Day two of Milan Fashion Week kicked off with the debut of Simone Bellotti at Jil Sander and continued with presentations from brands such as Loro Piana, Brunello Cucinelli, Pucci and MCM.

Here are two of the highlights from a busy day of back-to-back events.

Fendi, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, has yet to name a successor to former women’s creative director Kim Jones, but in the meantime Silvia Venturini Fendi is doing a great job holding the fort.

For spring/summer 2026, the Fendi family descendant – who has been in charge of menswear and accessories at the maison for more than three decades – collaborated with industrial designer Marc Newson on a striking set made of wooden blocks in bright hues such as red, pink and blue.

The vibrant backdrop complemented the joyful and visually arresting collection. The show was a riot of colours: electric blues, bright pinks and vivid reds – often in the same outfit – which vied for attention with floral appliqués and plenty of whimsical embellishments.

If it sounds excessive, it was actually just the right amount of playful.

Among the best looks were delightful twinsets in cable-knit silk that were paired with matching bags in the same material.

Transparency – from see-through lace and sheer fabrics to perforated leather and latticework – gave the garments, even fur jackets, an element of lightness.
