Fame and celebrity

The League is at the crossroads of sports, fashion, music and more – and celebrities like Justin Bieber and Machine Gun Kelly love it

Have you ever wondered what your favourite celebrities get up to when they’re not strutting their stuff on the red carpet or ducking from the paparazzi? Turns out that in Los Angeles, they hit up The League.

The invite-only VIP haunt located at SRGN Studios is a one-stop destination for all things sports, fashion, music, pop culture and more, according to Page Six. And one of its most famous and long-time patrons is 31-year-old Justin Bieber.

The pop star, who was said to be tightening his inner circle earlier this year, seems to be expanding it now through The League. “He’s always smiling, interacting with everyone, and genuinely looks like he’s in his element,” an insider told Page Six about JB’s appearances at the exclusive joint.

The “Love Yourself” crooner, who has previously played in All-Star celebrity games for the NBA and NHL, regularly participates in basketball and futsal games hosted by The League and even has his own team called Team Skylrk after his fashion brand of the same name. He has also trained under NBA shooting coach Chris Matthews to hone his skills.

So what else do we know about The League?

Who started The League?

The League is the brainchild of Ron Abaekobe, its commissioner and co-founder. “I designed The League as a destination where a structural engineer with high taste would be playing on the same futsal team as Justin Bieber and [rapper] Vic Mensa,” he told Page Six.
