Phuket is one of Southeast Asia’s most popular beach destinations, but at Trisara, one doesn’t have to compromise on privacy and luxury

While discovering new places to stay is always a highlight of travelling, sometimes going back to a hotel you first fell in love with is just as rewarding.

After a wonderful sojourn at Trisara back in 2011, it felt like another stay at one of Phuket’s most beautiful luxury resorts was long overdue.

Located on the northern coast of Thailand’s most popular beach destination, Trisara is only a 20-minute drive from Phuket International Airport, and a world away from the tourist enclave of Laguna and the party town of Patong Beach.

Since its establishment in 2004, Trisara has attracted savvy travellers seeking luxury amid seclusion and quiet.

One of the few five-star independent resorts in Phuket, Trisara is part of the Montara Hospitality Group, a family-run Thai company that owns a riverside hotel in Bangkok, and Tri Vananda – Trisara’s nearby sister property – a residential compound located within Phuket’s lush forest.

Perched on a bay overlooking the Andaman Sea, Trisara makes the most of its hilly location. Its 39 villas and 25 residences are situated on different levels, providing unobstructed views of the water and the jungle. With private pools, spacious outdoor patios, plenty of natural light and traditional Thai decor, the villas embrace the surrounding environment while also offering plenty of privacy.

To truly appreciate the level of service provided by Trisara, you should consider booking one of its residences, which unsurprisingly are popular for special occasions like weddings, and exclusive events hosted by brands such as Van Cleef & Arpels.

Equipped with amenities such as private cinemas and spa cabins, Trisara’s residences are akin to mini hotels. Each comes with a different design theme – from a cruise ship concept to sleek minimalism. A sight to behold, the 10-bedroom Villa Sawan is a wonderful blend of Thai and Indian architecture where tradition and opulence seamlessly come together.
