Available exclusively in Hong Kong at Masterpiece by King Fook, the German maison’s award-winning pieces blend technical mastery with whimsical, flexible designs

The house of Stenzhorn combines a delicate yet assertive aesthetic, always taking its inspiration from the forms of nature, with a level of technical mastery few other jewellery makers can aspire to.

The family-owned company was founded in Germany in 1979 and, to this day, takes the same artisanal approach it has always championed, making everything under the roof of its own atelier.

Stenzhorn is perhaps best known for its exceptional craftsmanship and expertise with the invisible setting, in which precious stones are set flush with each other, with no visible metalwork; instead, they’re attached via a metal lattice that sits underneath. This sophisticated method reflects the timeless, understated luxury Stenzhorn seeks to convey in all its pieces, and is something offered across all the house’s price points.

Its pieces also showcase the house’s expertise with the similar channel setting, where the stones sit between two polished metal strips. As a result, Stenzhorn creations – available in Hong Kong at Masterpiece by King Fook – blend an endlessly creative sense of whimsy with a pleasingly sensuous flexibility, yoking ornate styling to a refreshingly restrained use of colour.

On the pieces in the À Fleur de Paris collection, for example, stemlike, channel-set diamonds are complemented by spectacular petals made of diamonds, pink sapphires and invisibly set rubies. A celebration of the timeless beauty of Parisian gardens, the collection is dedicated to the romantic moments conjured by those most verdant of environments.

Similarly, pieces in the Mademoiselle B. collection take their design cues from one of nature’s most loved creatures: the butterfly. Here, the creature’s delicate wings are picked out in rails of rubies or sapphires, with a marquise-cut diamond forming the insect’s body and tying them together.
