Lauren Sánchez is officially a Bezos. The former journalist and her new husband Jeff Bezos concluded their three-day wedding bash, dubbed the “Wedding of the Century”, on Saturday. In spite of local protesters threatening to disrupt their nuptials, the Amazon billionaire and his bride successfully tied the knot on Friday, in a private ceremony on the historic San Giorgio Maggiore island.

Celebrity attendees included the likes of Kim Kardashian, Orlando Bloom and Oprah Winfrey. Among the 200 or so wedding guests, 70 were family members, per People. The wedding cost Bezos approximately US$50 million.

A Vogue digital cover offered a first glimpse of Sánchez’s bridal look featuring the Black Ops Aviation founder’s gown custom designed by Dolce & Gabbana. It reportedly took the atelier over 900 hours to make and was inspired by legendary Italian actress Sophia Loren’s wedding dress in the 1958 film Houseboat.

All hands were on deck for Sánchez’s big day. The 55-year-old had her hair in a romantic up-do with loose tresses framing her face, and opted for natural make-up – a departure from her signature glam.

For her wedding day, Sánchez used two trusted collaborators: Laura Mele and Buster Knight.

Mele has been working with Sánchez since November 2023, per Hello! magazine. The New York-based make-up artist – who counts celebrities such as Kim Kardashian among her clientele – earned her certification from the “Harvard of make-up schools”, Make-Up Designory. Per her Instagram, she is particularly sought after for bridal looks.
