Doohan, who has been married to his husband Fielder Jewett since 2022, was especially sad to miss seeing Lady Gaga on the Wednesday set

Hunter Doohan first appeared in Netflix hit Wednesday as the lovable barista Tyler Galpin – but, spoiler alert, he is later revealed to be the Hyde, a shape-shifting killer. In the first half of the second season, Tyler is more complex and unhinged than ever, spending much of his screen time confined to a psychiatric hospital.

Doohan, who jokingly called it a “hate crime” that he missed Lady Gaga on set as the only openly gay cast member, has sparked a flurry of viral TikTok hashtags thanks to his shirtless, chained-up scenes in the new season of the Addams Family spin-off.

The 31-year-old actor began his career with his first speaking role in Westworld in 2018, followed by Apple TV+’s Truth Be Told. He made his mark with a stand-out performance as Adam Desiato in Your Honor and more recently as the serial killer Muse in Daredevil: Born Again.

Doohan isn’t slowing down any time soon, with roles secured in Evil Dead Burn, the next instalment of the famed horror franchise, and upcoming indie film, The Wilderness. Here’s what else you need to know about the Wednesday actor.

He didn’t know he was auditioning for Daredevil

Hyde is not Doohan’s only time stepping into the shoes of a killer. Earlier this year, the actor portrayed Bastian Cooper – also known as Muse – a terrifying villain in Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again. He revealed in an interview with IndieWire that before landing the role, he had no knowledge about the series or character.

“That one was just one audition,” he shared. “We talked about Netflix being kind of tight-lipped – Marvel is that, times 1000. I didn’t know the character. I think I might have not even known the show when I did the first audition.”

He moved to LA from Arkansas
