He found his passion for acting at university

Born in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, Scott is the son of Cynthia Ann Pierce, an insurance sales representative, and William Joseph Scott, a civil engineer. In high school, he took part in several theatrical performances and worked at the Rhode Island Renaissance Fair.
However, Scott initially enrolled as a communications major at Syracuse University. He discovered his love for acting during his second year and switched his major to drama.
