Meet Loïk Gomez, Gucci’s new music director and husband of Demna – the brand’s creative director
A self-taught musician, Gomez became a death metal singer as a teenager, and worked with Demna at Balenciaga before their new roles at Gucci
The collection, named La Famiglia, features looks with heavy references to the legacy brand’s archives – but the fashion world might have already seen this coming. In August, Demna’s husband Loïk Gomez shared – and immediately deleted – an Instagram post where he was seen modelling a Gucci look reminiscent of Tom Ford’s time at the brand. Many netizens interpreted the photo as a hint of what might come next at Gucci.
Gomez, who is around 31 and also known as Bfrnd, has worked with Demna as Balenciaga’s muse and music director since 2017. It seems the couple will continue to work in tandem as Gomez takes on the role of music director at Gucci.

Gomez grew up in the South of France. Although he never studied it, he has been making music since he was nine years old, according to an Instagram post from Demna in 2019 to introduce Gomez to the world.
