The actor is best known for his roles in Succession and Inventing Anna, but he was also nominated for a 2011 Tony for a play starring Robin Williams

Arian Moayed may be making waves for his portrayal of the charming but ethically questionable patient-dating therapist Dr Andy in the second season of Netflix’s hit Nobody Wants This. But the Iranian-American actor had actually never watched the show until his Succession co-star Justine Lupe, who plays his patient/girlfriend and Kristen Bell’s sister in Nobody Wants This, begged him to join the cast.

“I was like, ‘Let me just watch one episode’,” Moyaed told The New York Times in a recent interview. “And then my wife and I finished the whole thing in less than 24 hours.”

Fans of HBO’s hit show Succession may already know Moayed as Stewy Hosseini, a private equity investor who builds a close friendship with Kendall “eldest boy” Roy, but the 45-year-old actor has range: in Inventing Anna, for instance, he plays a defence lawyer. Moayed was also nominated for a Tony Award for his role opposite Robin Williams.
