His signature bit, where he invites audience members to sing into an auto-tuned microphone during his crowd work segments, often produces hilarious results. Born in February 1987, Jay is from New Jersey, and has Brazilian and Italian roots. His mother hails from Brazil, while his Sicilian father, a musician, grew up in Argentina, he revealed in an interview with Ashley Parchment on her YouTube channel, It Takes a Universe. He lost his dad at a young age to cancer, after which his mother took up multiple jobs to make ends meet. Jay started playing piano at a young age, following in the footsteps of his older brother. However, he did not enjoy it.
