The Pitt swept Hollywood’s awards season with 5 Emmys and 2 Golden Globes, and is the most-watched show on HBO Max – get to know the actress behind the intriguing Dr Javadi

HBO Max’s critically acclaimed medical drama The Pitt, starring and executive-produced by ER star Noah Wyle, is the most watched TV show on the streaming platform at the time of writing, according to streaming data collection website FlixPatrol.

Currently in its second season, the series follows the lives of a group of medical professionals who work at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Major accolades for its first season include five Primetime Emmys, two Golden Globes and four Critics Choice Awards.

The Pitt’s popularity has also shot its cast of rising actors to fame. This includes Supriya Ganesh, Amielynn Abellera, Patrick Ball, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden and Shabana Azeez, to name a few.

Azeez’s character, Dr Victoria Javadi, is particularly intriguing thanks to her double life as a medical student and a TikTok star. “I think her online community has built her self-esteem in real life,” the 29-year-old actress told Decider.

Azeez was born on March 9, 1997, to Indo-Fijian parents. She was raised in Adelaide, Australia. “I love Fiji, and I love Fijian-Indian culture. I think it’s beautiful and very cool,” she told Australian film magazine FilmInk. She also spoke about her fondness of visiting her family in Fiji.

Azeez attended the all-girls Catholic school St Aloysius College. She told FilmInk she was “very academic”.
