The latest season follows the main characters in their adulthood. Zendaya’s Rue gets caught up in drug trafficking to pay off her debt to drug lord Laurie, portrayed by Martha Kelly. Meanwhile, Sweeney’s Cassie is an adult entertainer and engaged to Nate, played by Elordi. Demie’s Maddy is trying to make it as a talent manager’s assistant. Lexi, portrayed by Apatow, is working with Hollywood showrunner Patricia Lance, played by Sharon Stone – a highly publicised casting.
Kelly, who is now a series regular, plays one of the season’s main antagonists. The role earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in 2022. She told Rolling Stone that fans will see “a different part of her life with a nemesis”.

What’s her background?

Kelly was born on February 24, 1968, to elementary school principal Daniel Kelly and kindergarten teacher Bobbye Kelly in Torrance, California, reports Rolling Stone. She has Irish Catholic roots and was raised alongside her fraternal twin sister, an older brother and a half-brother on her father’s side.
Speaking with Rolling Stone, Kelly recalled growing up in an “argumentative” environment, adding, “I did not enjoy my childhood in a lot of ways, but I also was lucky in a lot of ways.” She also once struggled with depression and an eating disorder.
