Meet Maisie Peters, who opened for Taylor Swift but is still waiting on a wedding invite

The English musician, who’s also toured with Ed Sheeran and Noah Kahan, joked that she may not make the guest list after gushing over Hilary Duff

So who is Maisie Peters?
She grew up near Brighton

Maisie Peters was born in May 2000 in West Sussex, in South East England, the child of a geography teacher and a communications consultant. She grew up near Brighton, the unofficial gay capital of the UK, alongside her fraternal twin sister Ellen, with whom she hosts the Twinhood podcast. “You live a five-minute walk from all your friends, and you drink Glen’s vodka in the field when you’re 15! It was very much that vibe!” she recalled in an interview with F Word magazine. She enjoyed reading and writing as a child, per Teen Vogue.
Her first forays into music

Peters partly gets her love of music from her parents, who encouraged her to develop her own musical taste, per F Word. Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” inspired her aged 13 to teach herself guitar and start writing her own songs. She built an audience by busking in West Sussex and releasing covers on YouTube. Despite struggling with vocal polyps, Peters has released several successful albums, including The Good Witch (2023) and Florescence (2026).
