Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie is poised to be the internet’s next heartthrob as the romantic lead in Amazon Prime’s latest television series, Sterling Point.

Annie travels to Sterling Point, a fictional cottage community in Canada, hoping to find out more about her parents. There, she meets and falls in love with Ellis, a marina worker from the island, played by Whiteduck-Lavoie.
Here’s everything you need to know about the emerging 23-year-old actor.
What is Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie’s background?

Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie, born on June 20, 2003, hails from Montreal, Quebec. He is of Indigenous and French Canadian descent. “When I started acting, I was only getting Indigenous roles. I was like, ‘Am I only going to be doing Indigenous roles for the rest of my life? I want to do something else,’” the actor told culture publication Boys by Girls last week. “But now, I realise I need to be proud of where I am from.”
Per 1883 Magazine, Whiteduck-Lavoie was raised around nature and lakes on the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation reserve, which made it easy to relate to his character in Sterling Point. “[Ellis] grew up on lakes in Muskoka, I grew up on lakes in rural Quebec, so I felt this connection with him right away.”
