Fakemink, the self-described “poster boy” for the internet’s underground British rap scene who counts celebrities like Timothée Chalamet, Frank Ocean, Playboi Carti and Drake among his fans, made his runway debut for Gucci at Milan Fashion Week.
Fakemink joined models Alex Consani, Gabbriette, Elon Musk’s estranged daughter Vivian Wilson and American rapper Nettspend on the catwalk, showcasing creative director Demna’s inaugural runway for the Italian house.

Sauntering down the runway wearing a black T-shirt and sagging pants showing off his Gucci monogram underwear, Fakemink paused halfway down the runway to take out his phone from his crossbody bag and check his notifications.

Here’s everything to know about the UK rapper.

He started making music at 10 years old

Vincenzo Camille, better known as Fakemink, was born to an Indian father and Algerian mother and raised in Ilford, London, in January 2005. He credits his father for introducing him to musicians like Slick Rick and various genres such as drum ’n’ bass, reggae and dance hall, per British Vogue.

Camille was 10 years old when he started learning how to make music from YouTube tutorials after receiving a laptop for his birthday. But it wasn’t until 2022 that he started creating “good music”, the rapper admitted in the interview with the same publication.

Over the years, Camille continued to upload his music on SoundCloud while learning to rap and play the piano and guitar. The 21-year-old began earning money through streams on Spotify and was even doing live appearances. In 2023, he dropped his album London’s Saviour – and his career really took off.
