Fallen South Korean K-pop star Park Yoo-chun has been ordered by a court in Seoul to compensate a woman who claimed the former boy band member sexually assaulted her.

The Mediation Centre of Seoul court recommended that Park, popularly known as Micky, pay 100 million won (US$84,300) to the victim.

The victim is among four women who reported Park for alleged sexual assault in 2016.

The order, which was first delivered after a mandatory mediation last month, came into effect after a two-week grace period and carries the same weight as a court ruling.

This is not the first of Park’s legal troubles. Earlier this year, through a separate investigation in connection with South Korea’s explosive Burning Sun sex scandal – which involved big names in K-pop including Big Bang singer-songwriter Seungri, former CEO of YG Entertainment Yang Hyun-suk, singers Jung Joon-young, Roy Kim, Choi Jong-hoon and several others – Park and his former fiancée Namyang Dairy Products heiress Hwang Ha-na, were arrested for illegal drug use after testing positive for methamphetamine.
