A daughter of Malaysia’s late finance minister Daim Zainuddin will be charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Tuesday.
Lawyer Yu Ying Ying confirmed that Asnida Daim, who is in her 60s, will be charged under Section 36(2) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009.
That section relates to the offence of failing to comply with a written notice from the MACC to declare assets.
Court records indicate the case will be mentioned before Judge Rosli Ahmad at 9am.
In a separate statement, the MACC said it has also obtained approval to charge a company director linked to the so-called “Op Godfather” investigation at the same court on Tuesday.
According to lawyer Yu, Asnida had her statement recorded at the MACC headquarters for about five hours starting at 10am on Monday.
Earlier, Bernama – the Malaysian National News Agency – reported that she had appeared at the MACC Headquarters to give a statement.
Daim’s three other children – Md Wira Dani, Muhammed Amir Zainuddin and Muhammed Amin Zainuddin – were understood to have yet to arrive at the MACC headquarters.

All four children are being investigated for allegedly failing to declare their assets, a MACC source said in February.
On February 28, the MACC issued individual impact notices against the four following their failure to respond to, and non-compliance with, two official notices previously served.
MACC had previously been reported to have carried out Op Godfather following revelations about the existence of offshore companies and assets linked to Daim, family members and business associates.
The Op Godfather investigation was carried out under Sections 23 and 36 of the MACC Act 2009 as well as Section 4(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) 2001.
Daim died in November 2024, aged 86.


His family has been embroiled in a series of legal battles with the MACC, which in 2024 charged him and his wife on separate counts of failing to declare their assets.
Daim was acquitted of all charges after his death but the MACC has continued its case against his widow Naimah.
The couple had said they were victims of political persecution aimed at rivals of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Naimah has maintained that her husband was subjected to “repeated public slander” by Anwar, whom she accused of weaponising public institutions against his rivals.
A close ally of former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad, Daim was one of the most high-profile individuals under investigation for corruption.
