Chinese retailer Shein wants dialogue with French government after website suspension
French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu’s shock decision came on same day the fast-fashion giant opened its first permanent store in Paris
“Shein takes note of the government’s announcement today,” a spokesperson for the group told the Post.
“We are committed to working with the French authorities to address any concerns swiftly, as we have always done, and we are seeking dialogue with the authorities and government bodies on this issue.”
The announcement came as Shein opened its first bricks-and-mortar store in the world in Paris.

The measure will remain in effect “for as long as necessary for the platform to demonstrate to the authorities that all of its content fully complies with French laws and regulations”, according to the government statement, which requested the relevant ministers provide an initial progress report within the next 48 hours.
