Cloudy, windy weather forecast for Hong Kong as storm Fung-wong departs
Observatory cancels the No 1 typhoon warning at 9.40pm and issues the strong monsoon signal

The weather will remain mainly cloudy on Wednesday, the Hong Kong Observatory has said after cancelling the No 1 typhoon warning signal.
The weather forecaster lowered the No 1 alert at 9.40pm on Tuesday and issued the strong monsoon signal, meaning winds exceeding 40km/h are expected from the north. The No 1 signal was first issued at 12.20pm on Monday.
The Observatory said that while Severe Tropical Storm Fung-wong, meaning “phoenix” in Chinese, would continue to depart, local winds would still be strong over parts of the city overnight and occasionally up to gale force on high ground under the influence of the northeast monsoon.
It said Wednesday was expected to be mainly cloudy, with one or two light rain patches at first. The minimum temperature in the morning will be about 21 degrees Celsius in urban areas and a couple of degrees lower in the New Territories.
