Hong Kong City University green roof collapse contractor faces possible lawsuit
Investigation report to be released on Friday also set to recommend disciplinary action for three senior staff in campus development office

The contractor accused of overloading a green rooftop which collapsed at City University last month may be taken to court, while three senior campus staff are facing disciplinary action, the Post has learned.
The action is recommended in an 18-page report by an investigation committee due to be unveiled by university president Professor Kuo Way on Friday morning.
He will also announce the demolition and rebuilding of the Hu Fa Kuang Sports Centre at a cost of more than HK$1 billion to be split between the government and the university, after its roof collapse sent alarm bells ringing across Hong Kong over greening efforts that may be jeopardising public safety.
A source familiar with the report told the Post that the committee recommended the university should sue Sinoway Construction Engineering, which built the faulty green roof.
