Hong Kong was drenched in heavy rain again on Monday morning as the amber rainstorm signal was issued, hours after a severe tropical storm passed.

But that signal was cancelled at 8.55am, as the Observatory extended a thunderstorm warning, which was issued at 11pm on Sunday, to 1pm.

The Observatory said an active southerly airstream had brought squally showers to the coast of Guangdong province.
