Hong Kong’s Greater Bay Airlines launches tax-free sea-to-air service for 6 mainland ports
- Starting Tuesday, passengers can book one ticket for both high-speed ferry travel and connecting flights at Hong Kong International Airport

Hong Kong’s Greater Bay Airlines has rolled out a tax-free sea-to-air service for six ports in mainland China, allowing passengers who travel from them to seamlessly transit at the city’s international airport.
The carrier said on Tuesday the newly launched air link service was a collaboration with Chu Kong Passenger Transport and made under a code-share arrangement with the ports of Dongguan Humen, Guangzhou Nansha, Guangzhou Pazhou, Shenzhen Fuyong, Shenzhen Shekou and Zhongshan.
Starting on Tuesday, passengers can book just one ticket for both the high-speed ferry and air journeys, carrying the same “HB” code, through designated travel agents on the mainland or the company’s customer service centre.
Greater Bay Airlines said the new service offered “one-stop convenience” to passengers who might complete advanced immigration and check-in procedures at the departing port. They can then travel by high-speed ferry to the airport’s SkyPier and proceed to the designated boarding gates for their flights.
“The code-share arrangement demonstrates [the airline’s] continued support to the strategy of enhancing Hong Kong’s intermodal connectivity and reinforcing the city’s status as an international aviation hub,” the carrier said.
