Hong Kong police have arrested two men for allegedly stealing credit cards and about HK$20,000 (US$2,550) in cash from passengers on two separate flights arriving from Thailand.

The force said on Friday it received two reports the previous day that a foreign woman and a mainland Chinese man could not find the credit cards and cash they had placed under their seats and in overhead cabins, suspecting theft.

It added that following preliminary investigations, officers arrested the two mainland men, aged 37 and 58, on suspicion of stealing two credit cards and HK$20,000 in cash from the two victims.
