Hong Kong police have arrested two more people on suspicion of taking youngsters to watch the waves during Super Typhoon Ragasa, while a 54-year-old man has been prosecuted for allegedly swimming at a closed public beach when a No 10 signal was in effect.

Friday’s arrests came hot on the heels of the apprehension of two women a day earlier for allegedly taking an eight-year-old boy to a waterfront on Ap Lei Chau when the highest signal was in force on Wednesday.

Authorities earlier revealed they would consider new legislation to clamp down on storm chasing.

Police said on Friday night that officers had arrested a 46-year-old local man and a 33-year-old foreign domestic helper on Friday on suspicion of child neglect.

The pair allegedly took the man’s two sons, aged four and six, to watch the waves during the typhoon on Wednesday, according to the force.
