An elderly woman has been charged with murder two days after she and her husband were found unconscious in a hotel room in Hong Kong’s Tsim Sha Tsui, with the man sustaining a potentially fatal stab wound to the neck.

“Police today laid a holding charge against a 73-year-old woman with one count of murder,” the force said on Saturday.

The woman was arrested on Thursday in connection with a murder and attempted suicide case that occurred on the same day.

Cleaners at the Ramada Grand hotel on Austin Avenue discovered the woman and her 77-year-old husband lying on their room’s bed at about 4.50pm on Thursday, police said.
