Hong Kong student, 19, charged over bomb hoax at exams authority building

A Hong Kong student who falsely claimed to have planted explosives in the exams authority’s office has been charged and granted bail.
Liu Yuet-lam, 19, appeared before West Kowloon Court on Monday to face one bomb hoax charge.
She allegedly spread the false information last Friday by claiming that a bomb had been planted at the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority building in Lai King.
The South China Morning Post learned that the alleged false claim appeared as a story on her Instagram account.
Two days before the alleged hoax, the authority released the results of the Diploma of Secondary Education exams, taken by 58,487 candidates this year.
It was not revealed in court whether Liu was a candidate.
