A fleet of giant inflatable cartoon characters is currently delighting spectators along Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour before setting sail across its waters in a grand parade this Saturday.
With Doraemon and McDonald’s mascot Grimace among the popular characters set to feature in the “dream fleet”, the Post shares where to find the best vantage points for the parade.
1. What is the Water Parade?
Water Parade by AllRightsReserved at Victoria Harbour is a public art event presented by local creative brand AllRightsReserved, the same team behind Hong Kong’s pair of giant rubber ducks in 2023.
It comprises the Water Parade Market and the Water Parade.
The event showcases giant floating inflatables depicting globally celebrated intellectual properties (IPs), transforming Victoria Harbour into an open-air art stage.
The four giant inflatables are Doraemon, a Kaws version of Sesame Street’s Elmo, Grimace and Labubu.
The Water Parade Market is an eight-day festive space on land at the adjacent Central and Western District Promenade, running until Saturday. It includes additional IPs such as KPop Demon Hunters, Stranger Things and Squid Game.
The market has stalls running skill-based games, as well as themed snacks and exclusive merchandise for sale.
Visitors can take part in a raffle for limited-edition wooden sculptures of Doraemon and Snoopy, with only 300 of each available at the event.
2. Where can I see the inflatables?
The four giant inflatables are on public display in the waters off Admiralty’s Tamar Park until they set sail on Saturday, with the park being a prime location for pictures.
The Water Parade Market also offers platforms for enhanced views of the parade, with exclusive photo spots within the spaces that are perfect for selfies.

3. What’s the route for the parade?
The event culminates in the Water Parade on Saturday, with the four giant sculptures forming a dream fleet that will set sail from the waters off Tamar Park at 2pm.
The route will then take the IPs east towards Fortress Hill, across the harbour towards Tsim Sha Tsui, before returning to Admiralty.
The fleet will complete two full circuits of the route before the parade concludes at around 6pm. All four inflatables will depart from the harbour on the same day.
4. Where are the best vantage spots?
Spectators are encouraged to view the parade safely from various vantage points along both sides of Victoria Harbour.
Organisers recommend heading to Tamar Park to watch the parade set sail at 2pm and start the second circuit at 4.30pm.
The parade is expected to pass East Coast Park Precinct at 2.40pm and 5.15pm for the first and second circuits, respectively.
The Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui serves as another prime viewing point, with the IPs expected to come into full view at 3pm and 5.45pm.
The organisers said the inflatables would move slowly, with an interval of at least 20 minutes between each one, and advised spectators to be patient.
The sailing route and start times may also be adjusted due to the weather and sea conditions.
