China woman wakes from coma, reveals boyfriend who spends US$28,000 on her care, is abuser
Before the truth comes to light, Liu’s tale of sacrifice and devotion captivates the nation

A woman in northeastern China woke from a coma to reveal that her boyfriend, who had spent 200,000 yuan (US$28,000) on her care, was the one who had beaten her into unconsciousness.
Lin Yingying, 20, from Liaoning province, met her boyfriend, Liu Fenghe, online in 2013, as reported by the Liaoshen Evening News.
The two quickly fell in love and started running a bakery together.

However, their story took a dark turn when Liu called Lin’s father, claiming she had “fallen” at the shop and hit her head.
Lin was subsequently diagnosed with a severe brain injury and slipped into a deep coma.
For two months, Liu cared for her, changing her diapers, turning her, and massaging her every day. He even went into nearly 200,000 yuan debt to cover her medical expenses.
Despite doctors’ grim prognosis that Lin might never wake up, Liu vowed: “I will stay with my girlfriend for the rest of my life.”
