Brooklyn Nets to hold youth clinics, help revitalise basketball courts in Hong Kong
The NBA side will hold 13 coaching sessions for young players in the city and Macau around pre-season games against the Phoenix Suns
The Brooklyn Nets will host a series of youth clinics across Hong Kong and Macau as part of the return of the NBA to China this week.
As part of the team’s commitment to growing the game globally and supporting local communities, the Nets also said they would support the revitalisation of basketball courts in Hong Kong.
According to a release on Wednesday, 13 clinics will be held across multiple venues in the two Greater Bay Area cities around the two pre-season games between the Nets and the Phoenix Suns at The Venetian Arena on Friday and Sunday.
One of the clinics will be held at the NBA House in Macau, which the statement called “an interactive fan event and immersive basketball experience celebrating the convergence of the game, music, fashion and technology”.
Additionally, Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, parent company of the Nets and the WNBA’s New York Liberty, is seeking opportunities to revitalise basketball courts in Hong Kong.
The initiative will be funded by BSE as part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts to invest in the well-being of the communities it serves.
