Chinese basketball star Wang Siyu’s strict dating criteria ‘truly eye-opening’
The 30-year-old two-time Asian Games gold medallist listed out physical attributes, values and abilities required for any potential partner
Basketball star Wang Siyu was called out for “deterring 99 per cent of men” after her strict criteria for finding a love interest resurfaced on social media.
The Chinese women’s basketball player stated that any potential partner must be 1.9m (6 feet, 2 inches) tall, in good shape with visible abdominal muscles and have double eyelids, but Wang was also adamant that shared values were far more important than how a person looks.
The 30-year-old two-time Asian Games gold medallist added that she valued a man’s character and abilities the most, and hopes he is successful in his career, responsible and someone she can admire, rather than simply pursuing material wealth.
Any potential suitor must also understand basketball, comprehend the hardships of professional athletes and be tolerant of her demanding work schedule of year-round training and competition.
Born in Shandong, Wang was a Fiba Women’s Basketball World Cup silver medallist, and has collected gold, silver and bronze medals in the Fiba Women’s Asia Cup in the past three tournaments.
Listed as 1.75m, Wang was also a five-time all-star in the Women’s Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA), and a three-time WCBA champion.
