World Aquatics Championships: China win golds in men’s 3m, women’s 10m synchronised diving
Wang Zongyuan, Zheng Jiuyuan are pushed in Singapore by Mexico’s Osmar Olvera, Juan Celaya, while Chen Yuxi and Zhang Minjie have easier time

Chinese divers went two for two in the diving at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore on Monday, winning gold in the men’s three-metre synchronised event and the women’s ten-metre synchronised.
Monday’s medals meant China have won four golds from a possible five as their stranglehold over the sport showed little sign of slowing down.
China started proceedings with diving duo Wang Zongyuan and Zheng Jiuyuan winning the 3m event with an impressive 467.31 points, but they were pushed all the way by Mexico’s Osmar Olvera and Juan Celaya, who scored 449.28.
Great Britain’s Jack Laugher and Anthony Harding rounded off the podium with 405.33 for bronze.
“I’ve taken part in this event at four world championships,” Wang said. “I’m pleased with today’s showing, and it’s also the highest score from all four times.”

The Chinese pair scored an impressive 99.18 in their final and most difficult dive, pulling off an almost flawless forward 4½ somersaults.
