No sooner has one of Hong Kong's record-breaking Olympians delivered, than another enters the National Games fray.
Cheung Ka-long will on Sunday try to emulate Siobhan Haughey’s feats of recent days when he competes in fencing’s individual foil competition. And he’ll have Ryan Choi Chun-yin for company.
Elsewhere, the home team has a chance of glory at Hong Kong Golf Club, while a triathlon quartet and a cycling duo are fancied to challenge, too.
Here’s our guide to what could be a chaotic and memorable day 7.
Dynamic duo
Such is Hong Kong’s fencing prowess these days that Cheung, the two-time Olympic champion, may not even be its strongest contender in the foil event.

It also boasts Choi, who this year stepped out of Cheung’s shadow as he became world champion and No 1 in the world rankings.
Dare the city hope for two foil medallists?
Judging from Saturday’s lively first day’s fencing action, thrills and spills are guaranteed at Kai Tak Arena.
Fourball in the hunt
Hong Kong are unlikely to win individual gold in the golf competition, with Taichi Kho and Matthew Cheung too far adrift. Kho’s 69 on Saturday left him seven under par for the tournament, six shots back from leader Kuang Yang.
Cheung was another five strokes behind after a third round of 68 at Hong Kong Golf Club.
As a team, however, the home side are right in the mix at a combined 25 under, tied for second alongside Tianjin, with both two behind Shanghai.
Jeffrey Shen Wang-ngai’s 64 kept Hong Kong in the hunt, while Jason Hak Shun-yat has more than done his part over the first three days.

Joining forces
After Hong Kong claimed their first triathlon medal since 2009, another one could come along barely 24 hours later.
Just like Daniel Lee Chi-wo 16 years ago, Oscar Coggins claimed men’s bronze on Saturday, while Cade Wright’s outstanding effort in the women’s race brought her home fourth. The two of them will lead the charge on Sunday.
Bailee Brown’s puncture on the bike on Saturday may have left her fresher for the 2pm start on Sunday. Robin Elg, the fourth relay team member, was shattered after finishing seventh but had his eyes on a happier conclusion to the weekend at Central Harbourfront.
“We’re a hard team to beat and we need to expect nothing less than gold,” Elg said. Expect Shandong, Liaoning and Sichuan to be in contention, too.
Siobhan’s idea of fun
The relentless Haughey has already done her sizeable bit for Hong Kong’s medal tally, with two swimming golds over 100 and 200 metres freestyle, but is doing some extra racing because, frankly, she can.
She has heats and probably semi-finals of the 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke on Sunday – not normally part of her schedule.
“The two events tomorrow are like just for fun for me,” she said on Saturday. And we’re all for it.

Back on track?
The opening three days of track cycling have been a tough watch for Hong Kong loyalists, but could this be the day when the hosts join their own party?
At 1.20pm Ceci Lee Sze-wing returns from her week-long hibernation after so brilliantly capturing road race gold, to partner Chloe Leung Wing-yee in the Madison.
The duo, Hong Kong’s leading two female riders, claimed silver in this discipline at the Asian Track Championships earlier this year.
And that is not all. At 6.05pm, Chu Tsun-wai and Tso Kai-kwong will launch their medal bid in the men’s Madison.
Chu told us he was cautiously optimistic about standing on the podium come Sunday night.
Coleman on court
Coleman Wong Chak-lam has shed his impostor syndrome during a breakthrough 2025, the tennis star’s coach James Allemby has told us.
And it has been a handy year for the 21-year-old, who has claimed some notable scalps and made it to the US Open third round. A National Games gold would apply the cherry to the cake.
Wong is expected to overcome Hubei’s Chen Ye in his second-round match at Zhuhai’s Hengqin International Tennis Centre from 10am.
