Rain wiped out any play for a third straight day in the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Cup on Saturday, leaving organisers hoping the weather clears in time for Monday’s semi-finals.

With six games abandoned without a ball being bowled, only the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia were able to play twice, and their last game against each other on Wednesday was a five-over-a-side thrash that UAE won with a ball remaining.

The result did little to change the standings at the top of the group tables, with India A – who hammered Hong Kong by nine wickets – topping Group A, followed by Pakistan A, who beat Nepal.

In Group B, Bangladesh A’s 97-run win over Malaysia earned them top spot, with Sri Lanka A second.

If the weather cooperates, India will take on Sri Lanka in one semi-final, and Pakistan and Bangladesh will meet in the other. The final is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
