AC Milan superfan Andy Yang travelled from Los Angeles to spend three days in Hong Kong just so he could watch his beloved Rossoneri in action.
The Serie A giants face Liverpool at Kai Tak Stadium on Saturday in their first visit to the city in more than 20 years.
And Yang has taken a 24,000km (15,000-mile) round trip to ensure he would be among the 50,000-strong crowd taking in the action.
“I got here on Thursday and I’m leaving on Sunday,” he told the Post. “I came just for the game.

“I’m from China but I live in Los Angeles. The flight was about 10 hours, so not bad.”
The Rossoneri have a great history, with only Real Madrid crowned European champions on more occasions. They are also one of the most successful sides in Italy, enjoying the last of their 19 Serie A titles in 2021-22.
However, the club have fallen way below the levels of the side that dominated Europe as recently as the mid-2000s, and it means their status among the game’s biggest entities has dwindled.
“I’ve been a Milan fan since I was a child,” Yang said. “There are many people saying that it’s only the older generation that supports AC Milan – especially in China.
“I’m not sure why, but I just love the team; I love the club’s history.”


Milan won the European Cup two seasons in a row in the late 1980s and reached three successive Champions League finals in the early 1990s.
But it is their most recent spell as Europe’s most feared force that made Yang fall in love with the club, and he got to meet two of his childhood heroes in Hong Kong.
“Growing up, I just loved watching the legends from the club,” he added. “In particular my favourite player, Kaka, who started my relationship with the club.
“I also love Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whom I met today. That was amazing! Face to face, just unreal.
“I also met another of my favourite players, [Alexandre] Pato today, which was so cool.
“I just feel like supporting this team is a huge part of my life. AC Milan went to LA about two years ago and I was there, too, so it’s great to see them again in this beautiful city.”
Milan played against Arsenal in Singapore on Wednesday and will move on to Australia next, but Yang was only interested in seeing his heroes play in the city.
“My initial plan was to go to Singapore first but I love Hong Kong more,” he said. “Especially for football fans, you can really feel the energy. It’s great to see how international football connects people like this.”

Despite his undying love for the club, Yang lamented the club’s recent plight. An eighth-place finish last season, coupled with defeat in the Coppa Italia final, meant there would be no European football next season.
“I do love this team, but they have to do better,” he said. “Come on, we need to get better!”
Asked for a prediction against Liverpool, Yang was very pessimistic. He didn’t entertain the idea of a Milan win and simply pleaded for “no injuries” and to get in the best shape possible for 2025-26.
