Son Heung-min fever hits Los Angeles as fans wait at airport, spot him at match
Los Angeles FC prepare ‘major announcement’ amid reports they have signed the South Korean from Tottenham Hotspur

Son Heung-min has already begun causing a stir in the United States after reportedly agreeing a move to Los Angeles FC.
The South Korean has not yet officially signed for the Major League Soccer (MLS) club, but LAFC have said a press conference is planned for 2pm local time on Wednesday for a “major announcement” – believed to be the unveiling of Son.
The 33-year-old Son announced last week that he was to leave Tottenham Hotspur after a decade at the North London club, during which he scored 173 goals in 454 matches.
Reports of Son potentially landing on Tuesday prompted a crowd of about 40 expectant fans to head to Los Angeles International Airport to greet him on arrival from Seoul.

Their trip was in vain, but Son was then spotted attending LAFC’s Leagues Cup match against Tigres at BMO Stadium on Tuesday night, watching from a luxury suite. The forward was pictured waving on stadium screens during the match, to approving cheers from the club’s fans.
“Son is immensely important to me,” Jun Kwon, a 19-year-old fan of Son, said at the airport. “I used to wake up at five or six in the morning to watch him play in England.
